You want high energy? This is high energy? You want good driving music? This is GREAT driving music.

I've never played the Wagan Midnight games. I remember seeing them in a few local stores when the PS3 was at its height. I always ended up playing the Tokyo Extreme Racer games instead. After hearing the music here I kind of wish I would have dipped my toes into the Wagan pool.

All of the music on these two discs is high energy EDM. Taken in all at once it can be a bit much, but fortunately this is a vinyl record. 20 minute spurts is just about perfect for this kind of music.

The cool thing about how this album is ordered is each side represents almost like a mini EP of music. The songs all work really well together on each side and when taken in that context it never overstays its welcome.

Listening to Wagan Midnight Maximum Tune 3 is like listening to a time capsule. The music here reminds me so much of the late 90's and early 2000's EDM scene that it takes me back to those earlier times. I think I gotta go hunt down a copy of the game now. I haven't played a racing game in forever.
