Slow delayed guitars. Minimal drums. Spacey synths. Deep romantic vocals. Song of love and death.
Yes this is goth rock. There is almost nothing else that this could possibly be.
The songs here all channel that mid 80's goth experience with some slight alterations. For one the production has a much more modern tone to it, it lacks that 80's charm but it still works. The vocals are also much more one dimensional than any of the 80's acts.
That said this is a competent slice of goth rock. The melodies are slow and minimal, and there are rarely more than keyboards, guitars and drums playing but it ends up creating a full atmosphere due to the amount of reverb on everything.
The nine tracks all sound very similar and as such the album can overstay its welcome some. I find myself just listening to one side of the LP before taking a break. 20 minutes is just about right for this kind of music.
I don't have much music like this. This is a fun listen for what it is, nothing super special but you can certainly do much worse than this as well.
