Entry 101 - Bethlehem - Sardonischer Untergang im Zeichen irreligiöser Darbietung (S.U.Z.I.D.)

 

This album is strange. The vocals are tortured, the music is riddled with random samples that don't seem like they belong, and a lot of it just sounds off.

The music is very much metal... most of the time. Sometimes it just drifts off into random genres. The sounds found within the album are experimental, bordering on the avant-garde.

I keep saying that its strange, but what do I mean? I mean that there are parts that sound like a 20's radio show interjected into a song out of no where. I mean that the music is sometimes completely overcome by noise and static. I mean that it is s t r a n g e.

Most of the songs don't even attempt to have any type of structure. They just do whatever they damn well please, and the listener just has to deal with it.

The vocals are very much the same. Sometimes they are spoken, other times they are a tortured shriek, yet others they are whispered. It's just whatever the hell they want to do, and we're along for the ride.

I'm still not sure what I think of this album. I usually enjoy strange music, and this one just hasn't clicked yet I think. When it does it will likely end up becoming a favorite. I've just been waiting for that to happen for 10+ years at this point.
