Entry 055 - Street Fighter III: The Collection

I bought this collection for one reason only: Third Strike. I got the digital files right when the soundtrack came out on CD and it has been in rotation for years since.

When this collection got announced I pounced on it... only to cancel the special edition a few days later. It was a lot of money and I didn't want to pay international shipping. When a local vendor has the black variant in I couldn't resist.

This is another one of those soundtracks that if I heard it today I probably would have passed on it. It is very dated in the sound design as well as the beats used, but that's also its charm. This is a time capsule for me, and it reminds me of a time when I was in college with my biggest care being my next term paper.

Albums and soundtracks like this may not be objectively good, but they trigger memories of a happier time in our lives. That right there is the magic of nostalgia and how powerful of a trigger that music can be to bring us back to those times.

Also this album just rules, I don't care if its dated or not.
