Kowloons Gate is strange, hard to follow, and visits multiple genres. One moment I feel like I'm listening to a 1920's period piece of an elderly Japanese person singing/screaming at me, the next I'm in a cave listening to odd percussion instruments. The whole thing is entirely odd, and uniquely Japanese.
One of the things that I will seek out from time to time for my collection is something that sounds nothing like anything I currently own. Kowloons Gate is just that. I can't think of anything else in my collection - or recall anything outside of my collection - that sounds like this. That paired with a creative and an eccentric disturbing sound makes this more than enough to be added into my record stacks.
