Subtlety - the act of being delicate and complex, perhaps requiring multiple examinations in order to understand the true meaning. Whatever your definition, Fall ov Men would likely fit as the antithesis of it.
Dav Dralleon plays a style of synthwave called darksynth. Its a genre that takes the synth stylings from synthwave and applies them through an extreme metal filter. This is hard hitting, punishing, and exceedingly bass heavy.
You know exactly what you are in for when the album starts: screaming followed by people pleading "Please, please forgive us!" A choir hits an ominous note and then it begins.
The music that follows is nearly devoid of any melody, focusing almost entirely on rhythmic noises and pulses. This emphasis on the bass makes the music not only something that is an assault on the ears, but when listening on a system that can push out good bass you f e e l this album as well. Its an experience, and one that is not forgotten easily.
On Fall ov Men I firmly believe that Dav has set a new standard in the genre of Darksynth. This is an album that holds no apologies for what it is, and shows no remorse for its continuous assault on the listener.
