Its hard to believe that this one is real. When I first got into video game vinyl this was on my bucket list of releases to have by the time I left.
Parasite Eve is one of my fondest memories from playing the original PlayStation. The whole thing was so unique and had this dangerous and sexy vibe throughout. Little me was very enraptured by it. Ever since the audience in the opera house became a blob I was hooked.
The story and visuals are one thing, but what really drove the game to the next level is the music. The way the operatic vocals and reverbed piano are interlaced throughout really ties it all together. The whole thing has a pseudo noir mystery mixed with horror feel to it.
This soundtrack is one of the first piqued my interest in video game music beyond just listening to it in game. This music transcends the game.
This is a release that brings my collection one step closer to being complete - not something that can be said about most records.
