Entry 092 - In Other Waters

It's amazing to me how much In Other Waters lives up to its name. The entire album feels immersed in deep water.

The tones used here have an echo effect, giving the music a feeling of vast open space. In addition a ripple effect added to them causing the tones to feel slightly muddled... as if one was under water.

Its one thing to have an immersive album, but its another all together to make that album enjoyable. In Other Waters excels at both.

The melodies are slow and deliberate. They give a deep sense of exploration and discovery. Without having played the game I feel like this should be the core aspect of the game play based on the music.

In Other Waters is a wonderful melodic ambient album. The soundtrack transcends the game that it came from to create an album that is enjoyable to listen to, even without the context of the game. This is rare, and something I wish I could say about more video game music.
