Entry 089 - Orbit Culture - Shaman

While some albums age like fine wine others can have the opposite effect. The more you listen to it the more stale it becomes.

Orbit Culture creates a kick-ass style of metal that is somewhere between Metallica and Gojira, leaning more to the extreme end of the spectrum. Their music is punchy, hits hard, and can have some moments of pure brilliance.

When I first heard Shaman I was blown away, especially by the opener Mast of the World. Even after several listens later that song remains one of my favorites of the band.

The rest of the EP though tends to wear out its welcome rather quickly. After just a couple of listens I was ready to move on from the release.

While this could easily be seen as an incitement on the music, I think its more of a reflection of the role the music fulfills. This is a quick fix for some kick ass music that is to be played once then shelved for a few weeks/months and then come back when its fresh so your ass can be kicked again.
