This project never ceases to intrigue me. It's such a eccentric blend of classical music, noise, obscurity, and black metal.
It's hard to hear anything that is really happening at any point in the album, and this is entirely with intent. The raw and veiled production creates this mystery around the true nature of the music that encourages the listener to engage in active listening.
Compared to the other two entries into this trilogy there isn't much different here. The black metal is still simple, the orchestrations are still present, there are moments of pain and anguish in the interludes between the black metal. It's all a complete package as the last two compositions in the Ossements self titled songs wrap up.
The three self titled albums are full of auditory treasures to be found with repeated listens. They also fit a very specific mood that I don't think can be filled by any other band or project. This is pretty unique stuff.
That said, I don't know if I'm going to be picking up any more of the releases from Ossements. Largely because the three records that I do have fully explore all the different aspects of this musical journey. What I do have in my collection already though is going to stay for a very long time if not forever.
