Style: video game music, dark ambient
Primary Emotions/Themes: solitude, mystery, murder
Thoughts: The Dishonored soundtrack is one of the best in my collection. The way that it balances melody and ambience is outstanding. With the expansion to the game the music shifts starkly in the ambient direction and largely forsakes the melody.
The music on Death of the Outsider is more primal and has less definition as traditional music. The tones that are created here are dark and honestly quite unsettling for most of the records length. Not quite easy listening but also excellent for setting a foreboding atmosphere.
Death of the Outsider is not an album I spin very often, I'll prefer the original game's soundtrack. Every now and then though this soundtrack provides a bit of uneasiness in my life if I so desire.
