Style: black metal and blackened funeral doom
Primary Emotions/Themes: fast and slow obscure black metal
Thoughts: I've had this record in my collection for quite some time. I never listen to it. When I put it on the turntable I really wonder what kind of music is on this thing.
Nortt's side is exactly what you would expect, slow melancholic black metal with keyboards providing a sparse melody. The Xasthur side is exactly what you would expect, faster black metal that is has such an obscure production that it's hard to tell the noise from the notes.
Once I listened to the record I knew why I don't listen to it much... it does nothing for me. Both sides of the record are uninteresting and I find myself wanting it to be over to move on to the next record when it's spinning. This one probably won't remain in the collection much longer.
