Style: beat driven ambient, dreampunk
Primary Emotions/Themes: subtle beats and melodies slowly break through the veil of silence
Thoughts: Ambient pads, slow melodies, cinematic builds, powerful beats. This is the foundation of You'll Be Okay, I Promise and it works exceptionally well.
This album - like most of wuso's other works - has a distinctly urban flare to it. There are frequent uses of city field recordings, the synths are massive and sound intentionally man made, even the quieter parts are more like a quiet alleyway at night rather than an open field or a forest.
There's so much to like about this album. The way that the music flows in and out; it knows when to be quiet and it knows when to counter balance that with in your face moments... these moments often come within the same song. The album also feels complete - the songs blend together more often than not, and one track will allude to the next through subtle melodic foreshadowing. The whole album just works, and it's one of my favorite albums to come out of the dreampunk scene because of it.
