Style: dreampunk, ambient
Primary Emotions/Themes: traveling through an empty cosmos, nothing but a few hydrogen atoms to keep us company
Thoughts: Man this has been a blast from the past. This was another one of the first albums that I got when I was into the dreampunk movement. I really had no idea about what dreampunk even was at that point, but I knew I liked what I heard and that was good enough for me.
The essence of 暗号零 is simple melodies that repeat over the course of three to five minutes with a massive backing of synths. There are little to no beats and the music often feels static or with minimal movement. It feels more like I'm floating through space in audio form than anything else.
暗号零 is a fascinating album. It's one I put on when I want to be able to concentrate on the task at hand. It offers just enough content to get my mind occupied, yet not so much that it demands all my attention. Probably one of the better dreampunk records I own.
