Entry 1608 - Fief - V

Style: medieval dungeon synth

Thoughts: This is it. The final Fief album that I need for my collection. I now have all of the full lengths. Six chronicles of the medieval bard playing to his hearts content. This being the fifth such chronicle and what many thought being the final one is of equal quality to the standard set by the other albums in this legendary discography. Stay a while and listen.

Those who know Fief know what to expect with this release. Short little ditties that play around with dancing melodies using flutes, harpsichords, and lutes in keyboard form. This interplay is critical for the sound that Fief creates. It has a playful nature that no other artist in the dungeon synth field has.

This playfulness turns into curiosity, curiosity into knowledge, knowledge into strength. The strength is what carries through from release to release, it's what makes Fief... Fief. Even though every release shares much in common, there is this compelling force to complete each album... often times in succession. The music is simply that good.
