Style: Atmospheric black/folk metal
Primary Emotions/Themes: Journey with me as we traverse the fields of Scotland
Thoughts: Every time I listen to Aura I find myself having to take a few deep breaths. The album has a tendency to take my breath away.
Everything that was started in Roots is improved in Aura. I won't go into detail on how much this album moves me, but do yourself a favor. Listen to the violin interlude on Children of the Mist and tell me that's not pure beauty.
Of course I've heard music like this before, but what Aura does is craft the beauty in so well with the violence of the black metal that it's effectively seamless. Almost every album that Saor has put out is incredible, but for me, Aura is the one that stands above the rest.
