Style: lofi dungeon synth
Thoughts: There are legends of a place that no man dwells. Legends of a kingdom that was forgotten by time, where ancient wyrm's rule and feyre roam the forest. A place where the written languages of man no longer exist - stricken from the memories of those who remain. This is the land of the Eternal Tyrant.
A Dark Dream... is a short album that encapsulates everything that I love about dungeon synth. The melodies are simple, yet incredibly dark. The atmosphere is oppressive, harsh, and completely unwelcoming with it's lofi production and nearly dissonant melodies.
The first track exemplifies everything that I love about this album: the production rivals that of raw black metal. The instruments are played on cheap keyboards yet entirely menacing. There are these bells that are used as an atmosphere builder that completely saturate my speakers whenever they go off, they are overwhelming to the senses and only add to the completely unwelcoming atmosphere of the album... amazing stuff.
The one down side to the album is that it's short, just over twenty minutes. This is the kind of music that I want to listen to more of. It hits every single facet that I love about dungeon synth. I suppose the short length is a double edged sword. On one hand I want more, but on there other there is not a singular bad moment on the album. If there were more that may not be the case. Either way top quality dungeon synth.
