Entry 1310 - The Texas Chainsaw Massacre

Style: video game music, dark ambient

Primary Emotions/Themes: don't look behind you. horrors exist that are greater than anything you have ever imagined. Do. not. look. behind.

Thoughts: Sometimes music isn’t about a particular melody or a specific moment in time that it moved you. Sometimes the music is more about the overall experience than it is individual moments. Soundtracks like The Texas Chainsaw Massacre are a stark reminder of this fact.

This isn’t as much of an album as it is a backdrop for a panic attack. Every song on here has no melody, nothing specific for my mind to grab on to. It’s all effects, percussion and eerie sounds that are stitched together to create maximum tension…. A tension that never lets up.

Sometimes music is created with a vile intent. That is absolutely the case here. There is a sense of fear and unease that permeates every note of this soundtrack. One that does not take the mental well being of the listener into account. It’s sinister and once it puts its clutches in you it never will relinquish its grip.
