Thoughts: What a wonderful soundtrack. What an absolutely gorgeous soundtrack.
Piano and stringed instruments have always been a favorite pairing of mine, and The World Before uses this as it's main medium for delivering melodies. That's not to say that the rest of the orchestra isn't involved as well, because they most certainly are... but the piano and specifically the cello are the primary instruments here.
The way these melodies dance around each other, the way that they bring to mind all the different seasons of the year, the way that they bring together the most wonderful leitmotifs... it's all magical. This is a truly wonderful soundtrack, one that I am glad that I happened upon.
