Style: Vaporwave, synthwave, trap
Primary Emotions/Themes: Two EP's in one record, one old, one new - both exploring the combination of chilled out melodies with various influences from other genres
Thoughts: In Motion was written a few years ago as of this writing. It was one of the first releases under the project. In Motion II was written within the past year, and tries to replicate the same feeling that the early work did.
In Motion I is a relaxed slab of synthwave that incorporates moments of vaporwave, trap, glitch and a few other genres during it's short playtime. The main thing that ties it all together is the overwhelming sense of calm that the music has on me.
In Motion II is a relaxed slab of synthwave that tries to pay tribute to the foundation set by In Motion I. It uses quite a few of the same techniques found in the first entry, but has a decidedly more modern approach. The music is clearer and isn't as washed away in the overwhelming presence of calm that the first In Motion does. It's more defined, more ridged.
Between the two I prefer the first In Motion. They both have their place, and while they are two sides of the same coin, not all of the second entry is to my liking as much. I much prefer getting lost in the music of the first entry than hearing with crystal clarity what is going on. Sometimes ambiguity isn't a bad thing.
