Style: synthwave
Primary Emotions/Themes: nineteen synthewave songs that are as good as they are diverse
Thoughts: Even generic synthwave can be good, The Jenkins House proves that. Nothing here is unique or moves the genre forward, but it's so well done that it's really hard for me to find fault with it.
About half of the tracks have vocals. I presume this is Morgan signing, and what I hear is quite good. The lower tenor range voice fits the music well and adds in a nice flavor to the music.
The instrumental half of the album is equally compelling. Again while nothing is truly unique, it's so well done that I have a hard time finding fault with any of the melodies or atmospheres in the instrumental or vocal sections of the album. This is an album to put on when you just want some good music to get through the day with.
