Style: Ambient, dungeon synth
Primary Emotions/Themes: Behold the glory of the night sky, see how it is untainted by the light of man
Thoughts: If there is one thing I love in this world it's a good ambient album. Especially when that album comes from someone who normally makes black metal. Not sure what it is about these two genres, but black metal folks know how to create some absolutely superb ambient.
Einsamkelt is a slow, deliberate exploration of winter through keyboards. Winds and nature sounds start the album before the keyboards slowly take over. The keys only play whole notes over long periods of time, acting more like a fresh blanket of snow rather than any type of conventional melody. This goes on for some time only for the wind to take over once again.
This process repeats three times over the course of the albums three tracks. All of them have the same high quality to them. So much so that this is one of the most listened to albums from Paysage d'Hiver from me. It's the prefect album to put on as the moon takes over for the sun at night.
